SARTH Shastriupset top seed Jayesh Kulkarni to emerge men’s single champion in the Shruti Club District Ranking Table Tennis Tournament that was held at University TT Hall on Sunday. Sarthstarted the final ona positive note taking the first game 11-6. Better rated Jayesh fought back to take the next two games 11-9, 11-7 in arow to take a2-1 lead. ButSarth upped the ante and raised his game to amuch higher level taking thefourthand fifth games 11-4, 11-8 to clinch the title. Sarthmadeit two top trophies getting better of PurabSingh Renu 11-03, 11-08, 11-09 in the Under-19 boys final. Saiee Gunjal also bagged twin titles winning the U-11 and U13 girls singles finals. Laksh Chandak took home double crowns emerging champion inUnder-13 and U-17 boys singles. TanishaKolarewas yetanother player who returned home withacoupleofcrowns.Shewon Under-15 and U-19 girls singles. Professor RavindraPundalik, Ex-Director of Sports and Physical Education RTM Nagpur University distributed the prizes.
