CAPTAIN Lokansh Chaware was in ascintillating formashis team, SFS High School of Sadar thrashed St Michael’s High School 4-0 in their District-Level Subroto Mukherjee Inter-School Football Tournament Under-15 NMC Boys match at the SFS College ground on Sunday. Lokansh kept appropriateball possession and acted swiftly on chances from the starting whistle and made abeautiful pass to Azhan Sayyedin right out position. Azhan dribbled the ball towards team-mate Abdullah Sheikh who bulged the net from the left out position in the second minute. Just six minutes later,Sohansh Thakur (8th),at thecentre,played on towards the goalline and beat the rivalgoalie in ball play to shoot for asuccessful goal. After the lemon break, SFS’ righthalf Aryan Moses dribbled the ball towards the rivalside and shot the ball inside the net from 30 yards away in the 13th minute.

 

Stephen Meshram made no mistake to brush it past the goalie’s gloves into the net to make it 4-0 for SFS at the 20th minute. In another match, Anjuman High School shocked BishopCotton High Schoolboys 1-0. AkmalQureshi of Anjuman made astrong runwith the ball towards the goal and shot at the goalbutwas savedbytheBishop goalie Rijwan Khan. Rijwan failed to control the ball and passed it back to rival playerRuzan whomade nomistake to shoot the ball straight into the goal to scorethe solitary goal for Anjuman. In the NMCgirls Under-17section quarter-finals, St Ursula Girls High School thrashedCentrePoint School, Katol Road2-0.Vaishnavi Madavi (9th) and Shalini Nawadi (4th) scored for Ursula.
