Policy announcement on Uniform Civil Code
During his address, Chief Minister Dr Yadav announced that the State Government intends to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in this month only. A committee established for this purpose has collected feedback from various religious groups and communities. The administration stated that the move aims to eliminate statutory discrimination and position Madhya Pradesh as the first among the country’s large states to enforce the code.
Logistical Infrastructure and Industrial Corridor
As per the official information, Satgarhi Smart Industrial Township will be developed over approximately 70 hectares of land. Located 15 kilometres from Rani Kamalapati Railway Station and 25 kilometres from Raja Bhoj Airport, the site sits along Bhopal’s Southern Bypass. It will connect to the Mandideep Industrial Area via Narmadapuram Road, forming a new industrial corridor around the state capital. The township’s key infrastructure feature is a proposed 25-acre modern convention and exhibition centre with a seating capacity of 10,000, making it the largest in Madhya Pradesh.
Principal Secretary of Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion, Raghvendra Singh, stated that the township will include plug-and-play facilities, logistics and commercial hubs, residential zones, and a smart command and control centre with CCTV surveillance.
Investment Inflow and Industrial Projects
The administration highlighted that out of the Rs 30 lakh crore worth of investment proposals received during the Global Investors Summit (GIS)-2025, projects worth Rs 10 lakh crore have been grounded so far. Separately, under the Krishak Kalyan Varsh initiative since January, Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 86,000 crore have been signed. Local investment at Satgarhi includes a Rs 100-crore commitment from Sagar Group Chairman Sudhir Agrawal. The State has also recorded Rs 10,000 crore in foreign investment from major economies, including the US, UK, Germany, Canada, Japan and South Korea. International companies investing in the state include Hellion, McCain Foods, Toppan Speciality Films, Felix Generics, Clinisupplies, and TWE OBT.
