CITY swimmers celebrated country’s80th Independence Day by hoisting the tricolour at Ambazari Lake with great enthusiasm in presence of swimming and sports-loving citizens. Corporator Yogesh Pachporehoisted the flag. Members of Ambazari Aquatic Protection andConservationCommittee and Shark Aquatic Sporting Association Nagpur were present in large numbers, informs noted coach Sanjay Batwe. The entirelake area was filled with an atmosphere of patriotism. The attendees raised slogans like “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram”.

 

During the programme,Mayor Neeta Thakremet the swimmers and appreciated their efforts.Commissioner DrVipin Itankar also inspected the Ambazari Lake and met the swimmers and the committee. He appreciated the work of lake protection and conservation. NMC Sports Officer Dr Piyush Ambulkar was also present. This initiative was taken by Conservation Committee Convenor Avinash Kewate, Batwe, international trainerPradeepKeche, Sanjay Kariya, Suresh Lohkare, Ramesh Mankar,Ananta Mankar,Nilkanth Thakre, Suri Babu and Babulal Kumre.
