THE Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) office team took action and shut down the unauthorised ‘New Sanjeevani Hospital’ operating in the Ashoka Garden area. This action was taken on the instructions of CMHO Dr Manish Sharma, and the hospital was found to have no valid nursing home registration. During the inspection, neither the hospital director nor any paramedical staff was present on the spot. Upon inquiry over the phone, hospital director Dr Pawan Singh stated that he was on duty at Hamidia Hospital. Subsequently, the team prepared a panchnama by examining the documents in the presence of other available staff members. The investigation revealed that 10 beds were installed in the hospital.

Additionally, a labor room, minor OT, and ICU were found operational on-site. A cardiac monitor, various types of medicines (antacids, analgesics, antiemetics, antibiotics, IV fluids, nutritional health syrups), minor OT procedure equipment, and injections were recovered from the hospital premises. CMHO Dr Manish Sharma clarified that the operation of private health institutions without valid permission from the Health Department is completely illegal. Strict action is being taken in this matter under the Madhya Pradesh Upcharyagrah Tatha Rujopchar Sambandhi Sthapanaen Act. Official information is also being given to the police, municipal corporation, administration, and pollution control board for lawful punitive action against conducting medical practice without competent permission.
