RAIPUR :
DEPUTY Commissioner of
Police (DCP), Raipur Central,
Tarkeshwar Patel, a 2007-batch
State Police Service (SPS) cadre
officer, was decorated with the
Indian Police Medal by Chief
Minister Vishnu Deo Sai during
the State-level 80th
Independence Day celebrations
in Raipur, recognising his sustained contribution to policing
and public service.
Chief Minister Sai presented
the honour at the Parade Ground
on August 15. After unfurling
the National Flag and taking the
ceremonial salute, the Chief
Minister decorated police personnel selected for different
honours and commended their
devotion to duty and professional contribution.
Patel has considerable experience of policing the State
Capital. He earlier served as
Additional Superintendent of
Police (City), Raipur, handling
responsibilities involving law
and order, crime control and
public grievances.
Following implementation of
the Police Commissionerate
system in Raipur, Patel was
entrusted with responsibility as
DCP, Raipur Central, placing him
in a key operational position in
the Capital’s urban policing
structure.
The Independence Day ceremony also witnessed
presentation of medals and
decorations to several police
personnel. Assistant SubInspector Ramavatar Singh
Rajput of Dhamtari received the
President’s Medal for
Distinguished Service, while 10 police officers and personnel,
including Shweta Sinha, Nivedita Paul and Patel, were presented the Indian Police Medal.
“Patel has built his professional standing through sustained fieldwork, disciplined policing and a firm approach
towards law and order,” his senior officers said. “His simplicity, accessibility and result-oriented functioning have
remained distinctive attributes throughout his service,” his
batchmates said, describing the medal as recognition of
his professional journey.
