Teen killed in Rs 1.20 crore ORGAN SALE PLOT, 2 arrested, Police allege accused lured 15-year-old Rehan, killed him and attempted to remove his organs after watching an online video; three minors detained
BHOPAL :
Bhopal Police have arrested
two people and detained three
minors for allegedly murdering
a teenaged boy and attempting
to remove his private organs as
part of a plan to sell them for
Rs 1.20 crore. Police said the
accused allegedly planned the
crime after watching a video
that showed how body parts
could be removed from an
unconscious person.
The victim, identified as
Rehan, used to sell pens and key
rings around Iqbal Maidan,
Retghat, Kamla Park, the bus
stand and Royal Market. His
body was found near Dhobi
Ghat at Chhote Talab on August
10. A post-mortem examination revealed injuries to his
abdomen and leg, following
which Talaiya
police registered a murder
case.
Tattoo
helped
establish
identity
IDENTIFYING
the victim initially proved difficult as his head had been badly damaged. Police circulated his
photograph through social
media and the media and also
went door-to-door seeking
information. On August 15,
Rani Shah approached Talaiya
police to report her son missing. She identified the body
through a tattoo on his left hand
bearing the initials ‘S.K.’ and
the word ‘Shankar’.
According to
police, accused
2 0 - y e a r - o l d
Zoheb Khan,
wearing an
apron and carrying a stethoscope, allegedly
introduced himself as a medical
student to two
minor accused. He allegedly
befriended one of the minors
about a month ago and later
showed him and 18-year-old
Aamir Qureshi a video explaining how private organs could be
removed from a person.
Police said Zoheb allegedly
told the group that they could
earn around Rs 1.20 crore by selling the organs and that a boy
aged around 15 to 16 years was
required for the plan. Aamir
allegedly brought two more
minors into the conspiracy, after
which the group began looking
for a suitable target.
Rehan lured
with Rs 100
ON AUGUST 6, two minors
allegedly approached Rehan at
Iqbal Maidan and lured him by
claiming they had been
involved in a fight near
Khatalpura and needed help.
They allegedly offered him Rs
100. Aamir and another minor
later joined them near Retghat,
and the group took Rehan
through Ginnori and Kilol Park
towards Dhobi Ghat.
Police said the accused
allegedly killed Rehan near
Dhobi Ghat before one of the
minors produced a blade and
a mask. Aamir allegedly
informed Zoheb about the
killing, following which Zoheb
gave instructions over the
phone and social media video
on removing the organs. The
accused allegedly removed the
private organs using a small
blade and placed them in a
plastic bag.
Buyer could not
be arranged
ACCORDING to police, Zoheb
later failed to arrange a buyer.
The organs were allegedly
returned to Aamir and the
minors, who kept them for a
few days and made another
attempt to sell them. When the
deal failed, police said, the
organs were thrown back into
the lake.
Police said the accused had
initially approached two other minors to involve them in
the alleged plan. While one
refused, another was allegedly lured with Rs 100 on the pretext of joining a fight. The
accused allegedly attempted
to strangle him, but he managed to escape and later
approached Talaiya police. A
separate case has been registered.
DCP Zone-3 Ayush Gupta
assigned the investigation to
ACP Kotwali Santosh Patel and
formed teams from Shamla
Hills and Talaiya police stations. Police said they are examining Zoheb’s social media
accounts and phone records to
establish whether he contacted potential buyers or other
people in connection with the
alleged plan.
Two arrested, three
minors detained
POLICE have arrested Zoheb
Khan and Aamir Qureshi and
detained three minors in connection with the case.
Investigators are also searching for other people allegedly
involved in the conspiracy and
for the person who may have
been approached as a potential buyer.
