remains active in
Durg district as an
average rainfall of
589.1 mm was
recorded in
between June 1 and August 18. Tehsilwise data indicates that Patan received
the highest rainfall at 740.2 mm, while
Dhamdha recorded the lowest at 422.6
mm. Rainfall occurred in all six tehsils of
the district on August 18 as well, with Patan
recording the highest amount at 50.0 mm
on that day.
According to data from the Collector’s
Land Records Branch, following Patan,
Durg Tehsil recorded 671.6 mm of rainfall and Bhilai-3 recorded 643.5 mm.
Meanwhile, rainfall figures for the other tehsils were: Bori (583.1 mm) and
Ahiwara (473.4 mm).
There is significant variation in the
rainfall figures across the tehsils. There
is a difference of 317.6 mm in the rainfall recorded so far between Patan and
Dhamdha. Rainfall occurred in various
parts of the district on August 18.
According to tehsil-wise data, 50.0 mm
of rainfall was recorded in Patan, which
was the highest in the district for that day.
Durg received 33.3 mm, Bhilai-3, 31.1
mm, and Ahiwara 8.0 mm of rainfall.
Additionally, 1.8 mm of rainfall was
recorded in Dhamdha and 1.0 mm in
Bori. In other words, all six tehsils of the
district received rainfall on August 18,
although the amounts varied.
From June 1 to August 18, rainfall
recorded was 740.2 mm in Patan, 671.6
mm in Durg, 643.5 mm in Bhilai-3, 583.1
mm in Bori, 473.4 mm in Ahiwara, and
422.6 mm in Dhamdha. The district’s average rainfall figure stands at 589.1 mm. Patan has received 151.1 mm more
rainfall than the district average.
Conversely, Dhamdha recorded 166.5 mm less rainfall
than the average. This clearly indicates that monsoon rainfall across the district has not been uniform; while some
areas received good rainfall, the figures in certain tehsils
remain below the average.
