No compromise tolerated on quality of roadconstruction, infrastructure works: Dy CM Sao

Minister Arun Sao on Wednesday said
that no compromise would be tolerated regarding the quality of road
construction and infrastructure
works in the State.
Talking to media persons at the
Auditorium of Samvad in Nava
Raipur Atal Nagar today, Deputy
Chief Minister Arun Sao highlighted
the achievements of the PWD and
outlined the future plans of the
department.
Construction of roads is being
carried out rapidly with quality in the state. There will be
no compromise quality of construction of roads in the
State, said Sao. He said that a total of 1572 works worth Rs
12,666.2 crore including 1285 roads, 247 bridges and 42
buildings worth have been approved by the Department
within the last two and a half years of the BJP Government
in the State. At present, road construction of 6,000 kilometres is in progress in the State. A total of 582 construction works worth around Rs 3,060 crore have been inaugurated within the last two and a half years.
Foundation stones for construction of 1121 new works
worth Rs 8184 crore have been laid within the last two and
a half years, he added.
Construction of joint district office
buildings in new districts is in progress. Constructions of
guest houses, auditorium, sports complexes are in progress
in various districts.
Detailed Project Report (DPR) is being prepared for new
roads in capital city Raipur. 19 roads have been approved
under Rajya Drutgami Sadad Sampark Yojana. Besides, 17
new roads have been approved in Bastar region under
Bastar Drutgami Sadak Sampark Yojana
In enhance industrial corridor, three roads- namely
Raigarh-Loing-Mahapalli road, Kotami-Pasan-JatagaKatghora road and “Dhurkot-Pendarva-Chandrapur road
have been sanctioned in the State. Government of India
has approved Rs 15,000 crore for annual work plan of 2026-
27 for upgradation of national highways in the State.
Work and Accounts Monitoring Integration System
(WAMIS) will be implemented by the PWD soon. Integrated
registration system will be upgraded. Necessary measures
are being taken for empanelment of architects, consultants and others on the line of National Highways Authority
of India. Besides, the PWD, which is the nodal department
for implementation of Mukhyamantri Adhosanrachana
Mission, is taking 10 different actions, said the PWD.
