NAGPUR’S Agniveer Sharyu Fartode successfully completed IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship held in Nice, France,recently. Sharyu, amember of the first batch of Agniveers, is serving as aphysical trainerat INPT School, Goasince April 2024. Athletes participating in IRONMAN 70.3 have to compete in three sports —1.9 kilometres swimming, 90 kilometres cycling and 21.1 kilometres running, making it one of the most challenging competition.

 

Fighting tough conditions, Sharyu completed the event in 8hours, 21 minutes and 31 seconds. Shehas previously finished second in the IRONMAN 70.3 held in Goalast year. On the basis of her performance,Sharyu got chance to participate in IRONMAN 70.3 in France. She is a former swimmer of SharkAquatic Sporting Association. Ironman RajendraJaiswal, Ironwoman, Dr Sunita Dhote, Tiger ManRavindraTarare, Prasanna Hardas of Krida Bharati, Sharad Suryawanshi, AvinashDeuskar,AtulTapaseand otherscongratulatedSharyu.She is also amember of Tiger Group of Adventures.
