The long standing issue of non-maintenance of Dabha road from Amravati road has turned the daily commute of thousands of citizens into a battle. The Vayusena Nagar-Dabha road is in poor condition making daily commute extremely risky. Massive potholes, broken surfaces, loose gravel and eroded edges dominate the stretch near Seva Automotive, Kachimet, making it dangerous for particularly two-wheeler riders. Moreover, absence of street lights force people to commute in total darkness during night time making it extremely risky for women and senior citizens. The road is not only crucial for residents of Dabha and nearby localities, but also heavily used by prominent school buses in Hazaripahad and Dabha areass. Also, the people coming from Katol Naka and intending to use new Wadi flyover, and visitors to the Air Force Museum use the link to connect with Amravati road.

 

The constant use of road by thousands of two-wheelers, school vans, buses, cars and heavy vehicles makes proper maintenance of the road extremely critical. Though the authorities have started the concretisation of the road, it is being done only in limited stretch, that too on half carriageway. As per locals, the concretisation is very slow and ongoing for at last last four to six months, increasing difficulties of commuters. Residents have also alleged that staff of nearby automobile car service centres use the broken stretch as their test road to check vehicle shock-absorbers after servicing. Commuters say driving requires extreme caution as vehicles slow abruptly near showrooms and bus stops. Minor potholes that appear after rains have now widened into craters, with gravel scattered across the carriageway. Citizens have urged the civic administration and public works department to complete repairs of the road, fill potholes soon and ensure proper drainage to prevent recurring damage.
