A 23-year-old gym trainer died by suicide at an OYO hotel in Manish Nagar on Wednesday morning. The incident came to light around 11 am. The deceased has been identified as Prathamesh Hemant Shende, a resident of Omkar Apartment, Jaitala. His father is a Head Constable with the Wardha Police Department. Prathamesh worked as a gym trainer in Nagpur. According to preliminary information, he had been involved in share market and futures and options trading for the past few years. Police said he had reportedly accumulated a debt of around Rs 3 lakh to Rs 3.5 lakh. He was under stress over repayment, according to his friends.

 

Prathamesh went to an OYO hotel in Manish Nagar on Tuesday night and booked a room. After entering the room, he switched on the television and increased the volume. His friends had not seen him since the previous day. They tried calling him, but he did not answer. They later traced his location and reached the hotel. With the help of hotel staff, they went to his room. The door was locked from inside. On looking peeping through a gap in the door, they noticed him hanging and informed police. Beltarodi police broke open the door and recovered the body. It was sent for post-mortem. Police registered a case of accidental death and are investigating further.
