The four-day police custody of alleged fake IAS officer Tripti Singh Rajput and her brother Sudhanshu Singh is set to end on September 7. Bagsewania police are likely to produce the siblings before a court after questioning them in connection with multiple alleged cheating cases. The siblings were brought to Bhopal from Chanderi on a production warrant on Thursday. Investigators are probing their alleged use of fake Government identities to dupe people and are examining whether more victims were involved.
Police have also learnt that Tripti allegedly delivered lectures at civil services coaching institutes while presenting herself as a teacher at an administrative academy. She reportedly interacted with aspirants on civil services preparation and career choices.
Tripti and Sudhanshu face cases in Bhopal and Chanderi. Two Bhopal FIRs allege fraud of Rs 39.17 lakh and around Rs 50 lakh in connection with promises of MP Tourism resort and hotel leases. Police are also investigating the alleged Rs 9.80 lakh Chanderi fraud and trying to establish the extent of their network.
